1943: the world was at war. Fabrics were hand dyed to represent Allied troops bogged down in mud in Europe, fighting for tropical islands in the South Pacific, bombs, and blood. The US Pentagon was opened to coordinate war efforts and bring peace to chaos. The quilting is the reaching out beyond the building into the world.
