Stretching Art and Tradition

My quilt celebrates the letter Y. The word that is associated with Y in this piece is yarn.

As a crocheter, I have a large collection of many colors of yarn and the back is made of many colors. The Y is decorated with crocheted flowers in the illuminated style.

I used cottons, burlap, yarn, and hand stitching as well as machine quilting, Sharpies sprayed with alcohol on backing. The letter Y brought to mind both yellow and yarn and both are included on my illuminated letter.
