“3-11-11". On March 11, 2011, one of the most devastating earthquakes in modern history rocked Japan's Pacific coast in Tohoku. This 9.0 earthquake moved not only foundations, but the island moved over 2m and it even shifted the earth's axis. This is my recreation of a graphic representation of the wave heights in the Pacific Ocean resulting from the earthquake, originally created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association Center for Tsunami Research in Seattle, WA.
